09. Fast Food Politics

The 2024 presidential ads remind me of junk-food commercials promising quick fixes to a better life.

Like "nutritional" chips, they're tempting but hollow. The focus stays on what grabs attention, not on what actually sustains long-term governance.

Just as apples don't need advertising to be good for us, democracy doesn't need theatrics to be essential.

Its value is inherent. Yet it's the quick fixes that sell.

Politics, like eating well, is hardest in a world engineered for distraction.

Proposed solutions that sound comprehensive but amount to little more than empty calories.
